Introducing Swypr

Swypr is a tool for getting data from one computer to another without using the network. Swypr uses animated QR codes on the sender side and an HTML5 QR scanner on the receiver side to get your data moving without tripping any data loss prevention services, firewall rules, or mobile device management restrictions.

Swypr operates entirely in the browser- once you have accessed this site to load the sender and receiver web applications, no more network access is needed to perform your file transfer. No data is collected on the server- your file details are a matter between you and their owner (the same person, I presume)

Instructions

Note- Since Swypr is under active development, this process may change at any time.

  1. Load the sender application
  2. Click "Browse..." to select a file to transmit
  3. Scan the resulting QR Code with your mobile device's camera application to load the receiver application
  4. Click "Ready!" to begin the QR code animation, keeping the sender QR code in the sights of the receiver application
  5. Once the animation stops, a download should complete on your mobile device. If not, click "Restart" on the sender to try again. Remember to keep the QR Code in the receiver viewfinder at all times!
